Smells Like a Cannonball!

My new favourite studio addition
June 16, 2011 - 21:29 — JestaI have a new favourite thing in my studio. It's not a piece of hardware. It's not an effect plug-in. It doesn't even make any sound. Heck, it's not even a lava lamp! It sits there, quietly but effectively doing its job, giving me a sense of security and peace of mind.
Ladies and gentlemen, I'd like to introduce you to [insert drum roll sampled from an old GM sound module here]...
Is This Thing On?
May 10, 2011 - 20:03 — JestaA few weeks ago I met a guy called Nick Tann at a music event in London called MusicConnex - he was there as both a musician and a podcaster and we had a good chat about the benefits of podcasters and musicians working together. I said I'd send Nick some music and of course didn't miss the opportunity to follow it up!
As a result Jesta's "Scully Said" was played on Nick's podcast Is This Thing On?. I hadn't had a chance to listen to the show before, but it's a good listen with lots of great music. Nick & his guest Paul get into an interesting conversation about gigging and playing cover versions. Well worth a listen!
Nick's own music is really good too - check him out at http://nicktann.co.uk.
Michael grabs my song from the cosmos and bags it!
May 10, 2011 - 10:13 — JestaOne of the very best shows for discovering new music, Michael Angel's Cosmic Grab Bag is an essential addition to your listening queue. On episode 290 Michael played Jesta's The Grail - but there's some other great never-heard-before music from amazingly talented artists on the same show, so give it a listen!
Please help show my thanks to Michael by clicking "Like" on his facebook page!
Thanks for the promotion!
April 27, 2011 - 16:09 — JestaI was just compiling a list of the many shows that have featured my songs or used my music in some way and I thought I'd take the opportunity to say THANK YOU! Your support really means a lot to a small independent artist like myself and allows me to reach a much bigger audience that I would otherwise never have access to. If you'd like to play any of my music on a show, or use it in a video, please contact me - I want my songs to be everywhere!
So, here's a list of just some of the shows I'd like to give thanks to - I haven't been able to list everyone and I sincerely apologise to those that I've missed!

Suffolk'n'Cool 255
February 19, 2011 - 16:18 — JestaI love hearing my music on the Suffolk'n'Cool podcast because I'm always in the company of such amazing other artists - it's like when a good friend asks you to join them for dinner party and the coolest people are sat at the table. I come away feeling inspired and humbled to be in the presence of such talent.
So, I must thank the inimitable Peter Clitheroe for kicking off show 255 with a great little piece on Jesta and the new album. It's extremely rare that I have time to travel and visit, but Peter's definitely on my list of people who are owed a pint!
Audio Gumshoe with a Jesta Special!
February 17, 2011 - 22:24 — JestaOne of the hardest things to do these days is to find new music that you love. Sure there's some great shows that have a variety of tracks by different artists, but all too often you hear a song you like, go to investigate the band and find out that that was in fact their ONLY good song! Audio Gumshoe is a horse of a different colour. It's an audio show hosted by Rich Palmer (who I list in my "good friends who I've never met anywhere other than cyber-space" category) and each show concentrates on music from just one artist. It's a great way to get a proper taste of the artist's music and, even better, a bit of a biography about them too. I highly recommend subscribing to the podcast - if you don't like the featured artist one week just skip it and wait for the next show - Rich features a diverse selection of music so there's bound to be a gem in there for everyone.
Show 142 was all about me! I don't blame Rich for taking so long to get around to me - it's my fault for taking such a long time to put a decent number of songs together! Why not take a listen and if you don't like my music stay subscribed anyway? :-D
